Rapid Response for Hospitals and Healthcare During COVID-19

Andromeda Technology Solutions is proud to announce involvement in an emergency project to set up network infrastructure for a 300 bed hospital on Chicagoland’s south side for response to COVID-19.

This group effort required involvement from many organizations including other local businesses such as Titan Electric, Salas O’Brien Engineering and others.

Due to the overwhelming number of people contracting the disease, hospitals in the area anticipate more patients than they will be able to manage – this is on top of the standard medical needs of our community. To address these needs, the old St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island, Illinois is going to be reopened as Metro South Hospital during a special project being run by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Andromeda Technology Solutions was chosen to be a part of this extremely fast-moving project. Leaning on over 25 years of experience supporting IT needs in the healthcare industry, Andromeda’s team engineered detailed plans to install the new wireless infrastructure including two high availability firewalls, 20+ layer 3 switches and over 180 access points.

“We went from concept, to quote, to order and installation in less than 7 days and we are incredibly honored to have been a part of it.” – Director of Business Development, Carl Utz.

The Andromeda team transition to WFH (Work-From-Home) in accordance to state and federal requests but continues servicing our community as well as our valued clients during this time.
